(South Orange, NJ) – From June 10 – 12, twelve candidates came to discern the call to the Salesian Lay Missioner (SLM) program. During that time they learned about the Salesian charism, Don Bosco, what it means to become an SLM, and tools for reflecting on their discernment journey. Salesian Missions’ director, Fr. Mark Hyde SDB, discussed the Salesians and the early years of Don Bosco while Fr. Tom Provenzano SDB presented Don Bosco’s “Oratory Criteria”. A panel of returned SLMs helped to shed light on what life is like in mission and the different joys and struggles one goes through pre/during/post mission. Sunday’s mass for the Feast of Pentecost was celebrated by Fr. Mark Hyde SDB.[cincopa AsCAUq60ckDn]
